The Friends of the Library of Ponte Vedra Beach hosted a sold-out Golden Dreams Celebration at The Plantation on Feb. 28, welcoming members for an evening of community, creativity and support for the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
A key focus of the event was the upcoming completion of the renovated Children’s Library, a transformative project designed to create a more engaging, interactive and inspiring space for young readers and families.
Whimsical Willy Wonka–inspired décor, designed by Laura Chenore, reflected the evening’s themes of turning dreams into reality and letting imagination shape what’s possible.
In her remarks, FOL President Mary Gebhart thanked attendees for their generosity and volunteer spirit, noting the strong momentum behind the renovation effort.
“Our dream of a beautifully reimagined Children’s Library is becoming a reality thanks to this supportive community,” she said, adding that the project is now “ready to move from imagination to the possible.”
Guests enjoyed dinner, fellowship and lively entertainment by Bad Dog Mama, along with an auction made possible thanks to the generous donations made by local businesses and supporters. One of the evening’s sweetest highlights was a cascading chocolate fountain surrounded by an array of treats for dipping.
While the evening celebrated members and volunteers, it also served as a reminder that the work continues. Donations toward the Children’s Library renovation are still being accepted, and community members can support the library through Friends memberships, endowment gifts and purchases at, or donations to, Seymour’s Bookstore.
The Golden Dreams Celebration was, in every way, a sweet success — and a solid step forward in building a vibrant future for the Ponte Vedra Beach Library.
