PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Local law enforcement rushed to Chesterbrook Academy on Friday morning after the school received a threatening phone call.
A CBS12 News employee reported seeing multiple police officers swarming Chesterbrook Academy in Tradition on Friday morning after the school received a threatening phone call that prompted an immediate emergency response.
School officials said the call contained a threat directed at the campus, triggering their safety protocols. Administrators contacted law enforcement right away, “out of an abundance of caution and in alignment with our commitment that Safety First,” according to their statement.
Police advised the school to close for the remainder of the day while authorities continued assessing the situation. At this time, investigators say there is no indication of a credible threat, but the precautionary shutdown will remain in place as the review continues.

Chesterbrook Academy emphasized that the safety and well-being of students and staff remain its highest priority and said families will receive an update later today regarding Monday’s operations.
