GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – TV20’s Myra Monroe sat down with representatives from the Independence Project, which provides housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to discuss an upcoming fundraiser and awareness event.
The non-profit is researching the possibility of creating an independent living community in North Central Florida, similar to others around the state.
The organization will hold a fundraiser and awareness event on April 18 at the Tioga Town Center, off Newberry Road, from noon to 4 p.m.
