MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Zoo Miami is currently closed after deputies confirmed that a “swatting call” was made Friday afternoon.
Zoo officials reported on social media that an anonymous phone call was made, reporting a bomb threat.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, although the call appears to have been a hoax, deputies are still sweeping the area out of an abundance of caution.
It’s unclear when the zoo will reopen.
