An argument between a husband and wife inside a moving car in Hialeah led to the man stabbing the woman, which caused the vehicle to crash before the man stabbed himself Tuesday evening, police said.

The incident happened near West 10th Avenue and 58th Street when the couple, both in their 70s, were involved a verbal dispute while inside a moving vehicle, Hialeah Police officials said.

The dispute escalated, and the man stabbed the woman, causing the car to crash, police said. The man then stabbed himself.

“I went over there and I saw the lady bleeding all here, and he punched her on the shoulder and chest,” said witness Miguel Martinez.

Cellphone video showed both the man and woman being placed into ambulances and wrapped in bandages.

“His shirt was covered in blood, and all of her shirt was covered in blood,” Martinez said.

The two were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.
