One man dead after single-vehicle crash in Taylor Co.

  • March 16, 2026

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A 76-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Taylor County on Sunday evening, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP.)

In a press release, FHP said a pickup truck was traveling north on Ecofina River Road, and, for unknown reasons, the truck went off the road and onto the east shoulder.

According to FHP, the driver of the pickup then began to steer the vehicle to the left, causing the truck to rotate.

After re-entering the road, while continuing to rotate, the man traveled across both lanes and onto the west shoulder before the front of the truck collided with a tree.

Officials said the driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
