TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men’s golf (+16) is in eighth place after one day at the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State. Originally scheduled for 18 holes per day and culminating in the final round on Tuesday, the start of round two was moved up to Sunday afternoon due to impending weather headed for Tallahassee on Monday. The field completed about half of round two before darkness suspended play.

On the same course where he competed in last year’s NCAA Regional, NaShawn Tyson led the Owls in round one with a 73 (+1).Louka Morin got off to a slow start in round one, bogeying his first four holes, but the freshman settled in and played the last 14 holes in -1, including four birdies, on the way to a 75.Morin has four holes left to play in round two, while Tyson has seven holes left. Both are currently tied for 38th (+5).Both Biagio Gagliardi and Guilherme Grinberg are +3 for the tournament and -1 in their second rounds (T25).In the team competition, Florida State is -4 and leading by nine over Southern Miss.On the individual medalist front, Troy’s Lee Poppell and Southern Miss.’ Matthew Javier are each -6.
