CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)— A person was severely injured and airlifted to a hospital after a crash that occurred near the scene of a reported shooting in the Yucca Pens area.
Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a disturbance on Sunday where callers reported shots had been fired, according to a press release.
While officers were handling that incident, a crash with injuries was reported in the same area.
One person sustained severe injuries in the crash. Lee Flight transported the injured person to a hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
