Cold weather shelters will be opening in Citrus County as temperatures are expected to drop overnight into tomorrow.

3. One month in, dredging at John’s Pass about 20% done
More than one month into the long-awaited dredging project in John’s Pass, the city of Madeira Beach confirms the contractor is only about 20% complete.

4. Zelenskyy says Ukraine is waiting on U.S. and Russia to set next round of talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in comments released Sunday that he was ready for the next round of trilateral peace talks to end Russia’s more than 4-year-old invasion of Ukraine, but that it was up to Washington and Moscow to agree on where and when to meet.

5. Senate will debate SAVE Act this week: What you need to know
The U.S. Senate plans to debate a bill this week that President Donald Trump says is his top legislative priority. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, or SAVE America Act, would require a valid U.S. passport or birth certificate to register to vote and a photo, government or military ID with proof of birth and location to cast a ballot.

TAMPA LANE CLOSURE | Crews have begun repair work on a damaged sewer lateral that caused a depression in the roadway along the 3800 block of North MacDill Avenue. The work area is located between Wesr Douglas Street and West Leroy Street. Traffic in the surrounding neighborhoods, including the communities near Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary School and MacFarlane Park, will experience delays. The repairs are expected to continue through Friday, March 20 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
LIGHTNING VS. KRAKEN | The Tampa Bay Lightning are on the road as they prepare to square off against the Seattle Kraken. Tomorrow’s matchup is the first meeting between the two teams this season. Tampa Bay is 40-21-4 overall and 20-9-4 in road games. The puck drops at 10 p.m.
