The annual “Ding” Darling Day Conservation Carnival at Lakes Park in Fort Myers has been postponed for 2026.

The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) provided the following updates for the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel:

– The free Winter Refuge Programs are taking place from now through April 6.

– The free Winter Lecture Series will run from now through April 16.

– The 14th annual “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament will take place on May 15. The tourney is near capacity. To be placed on the wait list, contact DDWS Events, Marketing and Grants Manager Angeli Chin at angeli@dingdarlingsociety.org.

– Celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary with the refuge on July 4.

– The refuge will celebrate Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling’s 150th birthday on Oct. 21.

– Art will meet nature at Art in the Wild on Oct. 21-22.

– The REVIVE! Trash-To-Fashion Couture Collection Show will be held on Nov. 4.
