Logan Williams, 29, received two consecutive life sentences plus 105 years in prison, the Office of State Attorney Suzy Lopez announced.

TAMPA, Fla. — A man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury convicted him of trying to kill a Hillsborough County deputy and trying to flee an arrest in 2025, the Office of State Attorney Suzy Lopez announced.

During a court hearing on Tuesday morning, Logan Williams, 29, received two consecutive life sentences and an additional 105 years in prison, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

In February, a jury reportedly found Williams guilty in a court in Tampa on multiple charges, including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer with a weapon, attempted second-degree murder with a weapon, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery on a person over 65, aggravated fleeing to elude, driving under the influence with property damage, among several other offenses.

Williams was initially taken into custody in January of last year after “intentionally” striking a deputy’s car to try to avoid arrest, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said at the time. The incident happened at an RV park on Williams Road in Seffner, just east of Tampa. Deputies said they were in the area to locate a man suspected of aggravated battery.

Lopez’s office added that the conviction stemmed from an argument in which Williams cut his 87-year-old grandmother with a knife during an argument. When deputies arrived, Williams fled the scene in his car, and while a deputy was trying to stop him, Williams rammed the deputy’s vehicle, injuring the deputy and a civilian employee.

“When you target the very men and women who risk their lives to protect our community, we will pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law,” State Attorney Suzy Lopez said. “Thanks to the work of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners, this defendant will never walk the streets again.”
