A series of 911 calls early Sunday morning from Yucca Pens Preserve in Cape Coral reported a shooting and a teenager being run over by a car, creating a chaotic scene with no arrests made yet.”We’re stuck, and they’re shooting at us!” a caller said, initiating the chain of events. Police reported that the first call came from a woman who said someone shot at her.”Are you in a vehicle? They shot at us!” another caller said, as multiple people screamed for help.”There’s been a big group fight out here,” a caller said, describing the scene.The preserve was littered with alcohol, beer cans, bullets, and even a spot for a bonfire, indicating a large party had taken place. Callers struggled to provide the exact location to dispatchers.”I don’t know any coordinates,” one caller said.After police located the area, another emergency unfolded when a 17-year-old was run over by a car.”Aye, there is somebody under the car! Aye, somebody is under it, somebody is under it!” a caller said.The teenager’s best friend, who was on the phone with dispatch, reported that the teen had a broken rib and was spitting up blood.”We tried flipping the car off of him, she flipped out and ran,” the friend said.”Shaggy, listen to me, that girl ran you over, you understand what’s going on?” another person said, as the teen feared for his life.”You’re not going to die, you’re not going to die,” a caller reassured him.A police report noted that an officer saw a damaged sedan on Burnt Store Road on Sunday, with two people inside, covered in blood and injured. They claimed a gun was pointed at them.
