TYLER, Texas — Authorities are responding to a deadly crash on Toll 49 Wednesday morning.

The wreck is reportedly near FM 2493 (Old Jacksonville Highway). Smith County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Andy Dunklin confirmed one person died in the crash.

Smith County Emergency Services District No. 2 spokesperson Nikki Simmons confirmed two 18-wheelers were involved in the crash. In addition to the one death, another person was taken to the hospital.

The stretch of Toll 49 between Old Jacksonville Highway and Broadway Ave. will likely be closed for several hours.
