ORLANDO, Fla. – Court records obtained by News 6 revealed disturbing details about a shooting that broke out near a Walmart in Orlando on Thursday night.
In an arrest affidavit, Orange County deputies said they were called to the woods west of the Walmart, located at 3101 W. Princeton Street, around 11:43 p.m.
Upon arrival, they were flagged down by a man who was seen bleeding from his hand, who explained that the gunman was still in the woods near his tents, the affidavit says.
Deputies said they then went toward the wood line, finding the suspect — identified as 63-year-old Joseph Fenwick — who surrendered to law enforcement.
Once brought into custody, Fenwick told deputies that he’d driven to the campsite in the woods with a shotgun, looking for a woman whom he wanted to handcuff and “degrade,” detectives reported.
Elaborating further, detectives said they learned from Fenwick that he’d been with the woman for over 10 years, but starting a few weeks before the incident, she and the other man had been visiting at the campsite.
According to the affidavit, Fenwick’s statement was as follows:
“She’s stole $5,378 from me. That’s why I’m here, and I wasn’t going to kill him. I was just going to (expletive) scare them into putting these handcuffs on. Then, I was going to torture him a little bit. I mean, as far as make degrade her, I might have made her suck my (expletive) or something like that. But that’s it. Then, I was going to have him call the law, and I would be here anyway. So I don’t want to murder anybody.”

But during the confrontation, the other man had confronted Fenwick with a chair, which is when the gun went off, according to detectives.
Deputies said they later learned that the other man had managed to fend off Fenwick, suffering a cut from Fenwick’s machete in the process.
Investigating Fenwick, detectives said they found a fanny pack around his waist with shotgun shells and silicone handcuffs.
However, they also discovered what appeared to be ball gags on his ankles, deputies noted.
“I was going to ball gag them… I came prepared,” Fenwick reportedly told investigators.
Meanwhile, detectives said they interviewed the woman over the phone, and she said she had noticed a “gradual obsession” from Fenwick beginning to grow recently.
“Fenwick assisted (her) while she was out of work by allowing her to sleep in her car in his driveway…” the affidavit continues. “(She) began to see photos of herself on Fenwick’s TV that she did not recall taking. (She) also advised Fenwick would journal about her regularly.”
Due to this growing obsession, she reportedly moved out of the driveway into the wooden campsite with the other man, though she’d been speaking over the phone with him when Fenwick arrived that night.
Fenwick now faces two charges of attempted first-degree murder — one with a firearm, and the other with a “weapon.” He is held without bond.
