Cape Coral man accused of stealing almost $2K in HVAC equipment

A man is accused of stealing almost $2,000 in HVAC equipment from the company he was working for, the Cape Coral Police Department said Wednesday.According to a press release, officers were called to a reported theft at a storage facility located at 2555 Pine Island Road on March 11. It adds that stolen HVAC equipment, valued at nearly $2,000, had been removed from a company vehicle and stored at the facility.Officers say they identified suspect Cristian Kevin Felipe Ramos, 23, driving a marked work van into the storage facility via surveillance footage. The video went on to show Ramos exiting the vehicle and unloading items from the van into the facility.Detectives say they confronted Ramos with the footage, where he acknowledged that he was the driver. During questioning, CCPD says Ramos acknowledged being at the storage facility but denied removing equipment.
