For families dreaming of sunshine without the sticker shock, Florida is shaping up to be the most budget-friendly destination for Spring Break 2026. According to new airfare data from Dollar Flight Club, several Florida cities rank among the top 10 cheapest places in the U.S. to fly this spring, making the Sunshine State a top pick for travelers hoping to cut costs.
The data highlights cities like Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale as particularly affordable options, with average round-trip flights often landing under the $100 mark from major U.S. airports. That’s a significant savings compared with international beach destinations or even other popular domestic spring break spots, where airfare alone can quickly eat up a family’s travel budget.
For Orlando, which sits at no. 1 on the list of cheapest cities, the average round-trip flight during spring break costs $65 to $160, which is about 12% cheaper than spring 2025. Tampa (no. 3) is slightly more expensive at an average of $70 to $170 for a round-trip flight, but it’s still about eight percent cheaper than last year. And Fort Lauderdale (no. 4) is just a smidge more at $75 to $180, on average, which is, nonetheless, about nine percent less than spring-break time in 2025.
It’s also worth noting that both Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FFL) topped the list of cheapest airports to fly into during the spring-break season. According to Dollar Flight Club’s data, midweek departures (Tuesday through Thursday) from these airports are often 15% to 25% cheaper than weekend flights. And now is the time to start looking. Late March and early April travel windows show the strongest deal availability.

With multiple major airports spread throughout the state, families have more opportunities to find competitive fares and convenient flight times. That increased competition between airlines can help drive prices down, especially during peak travel seasons like spring break.
Beyond cheap flights and accessibility, Florida’s variety of destinations helps stretch vacation dollars even further. Beach towns across the state offer miles of public shoreline, free outdoor activities, and family-friendly attractions that don’t require expensive tickets or long drives. From lounging along the Atlantic coast to exploring wildlife reserves and coastal parks, many of Florida’s best experiences cost little or nothing at all.
