FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Florida State University kicker Conor McAneney was arrested Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale on multiple charges, according to jail records obtained by Local 10 News Thursday.
Records show McAneney, 20, was booked on charges of battery on a police officer, firefighter or EMT, resisting an officer with violence, and trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.
Fort Lauderdale police said at approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, McAneney was arrested following a trespassing incident near the 200 block of South Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard.
While police were attempting to detain McAneney, they said he became “uncooperative and violent.”
FSU’s website states that McAneney is from Plumbridge, Ireland, and he is listed as a sophomore on the team.
The circumstances surrounding his arrest were not immediately released. However, state prosecutors said in bond court Thursday that he is visiting South Florida while on spring break.
Records show McAneney’s bond was set at $2,750, and he remained jailed at the Broward Main Jail as of Thursday morning.
Local 10 News has requested his arrest report from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
