AppWork, a technology startup with a St. Petersburg office, has raised approximately $7 million in funding. The round, led by Baltimore-based Resolve Growth Partners, was announced Monday.
Co-founder and CEO Sean Landsberg and his team have developed a solution to simplify the maintenance management process for multifamily property owners and technicians. AppWork experienced more than 200% growth in 2025.
The capital will be used to foster innovation and expand the team, Landsberg said. A key aspect will be artificial intelligence.
“Maintenance is one of those things that’s always going to have to be done by humans,” he explained. “We are focusing on using AI to help empower technicians.”
For example, the technology can help “triage and diagnose” issues. If a worker is required, they can be more prepared. Technicians can ensure that they have the right equipment to resolve the problem.
“We already have a whole suite of AI tools but there’s a lot more we plan to build out,” Landsberg added. “There are robust systems and processes that can be created.”
AppWork, which was founded in 2022, first brought its solution to the market about two years ago. It all started with a project at a New Jersey property management company.
Prior to leading the startup, Landsberg served as Dasmen Residential’s senior vice president of operations. In this role, he saw the challenges property managers face firsthand. This inspired him to collaborate with some colleagues to develop AppWork. “We initially built it for ourselves to use as a tool,” Landsberg explained.
The software product progressed over time. Features include work order management and technician performance tracking. Additionally, the solution can help property owners oversee inspections.
AppWork can reduce vacancy loss through its Make Ready platform, he said. The feature can help assign and manage tasks to prepare an empty apartment for a new tenant.
It was also important to create a training system that can guide technicians, Landsberg added. The software has a “gamification” component where individuals can receive coins and badges for their work as well.
Landsberg and the AppWork team decided to open a St. Petersburg office over a year ago. Currently, there are about 15 employees at the location. The facility, at 735 Arlington Avenue N., is used by the company’s sales and client success team.
“Florida, especially in and around St. Pete, is a fairly large multifamily property market,” he said. “We have a lot of clients there.”
Previously, the organization completed a $13 million Series A funding round in 2025. It was also led by Resolve Growth Partners.
