A man is facing vehicular manslaughter and other charges after a hit-and-run crash that killed two pedestrians in Miami Beach Wednesday night, police said.
Adan Negron-Morris, 42, is also charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death, Miami Beach Police said.
According to police, Negron-Morris was behind the wheel of a black Nissan Sentra and was seen driving in a reckless manner without headlights in the area of 71st Street and Collins Avenue shortly after 9 p.m.
The Sentra passed a Miami Beach officer who attempted to respond as multiple 911 calls were simultaneously received about the reckless driving, police said.
As Negron-Morris entered the intersection at 73rd Street and Collins, he struck two pedestrians as the Sentra continued to 74th Street and Collins, where he stopped and fled on foot into a nearby Walgreens, police said.
Witnesses told officers where Negron-Morris could be found, and he was taken into custody before he was brought to a local hospital.

Miami Beach Police body camera video shows the arrest of Adan Negron-Morris on March 18, 2026.
Miami Beach Fire Rescue took both of the pedestrians to a local hospital where they died from their injuries.
According to an arrest report, a DUI investigation was initiated and Negron-Morris showed signs of impairment but refused to give a blood sample, though police ordered hospital staff to obtain a forced blood draw.
Negron-Morris later told investigators that he suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression, and had intended to take his own life by crashing the vehicle, the report said.
He said he recalled “closing his eyes, pressing the accelerator, and hoping to die” and said after hearing the crash he stopped as soon as he could and considered leaving the scene but instead went into the Walgreens, the report said.
Negron-Morris also said his drug of choice is crack cocaine and marijuana but on the date of the crash he’d only had marijuana and an unknown medication provided by his girlfriend, the report said.
Negron-Morris was arrested and booked into jail, officials said.
