MAD DADS Jacksonville and the family of Baron Greenwade III will canvass the Grand Park neighborhood on Saturday, Oct. 25, seeking answers in his murder.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m., MAD DADS Jacksonville and the family of 21-year-old Baron Greenwade III will host a justice walk and community canvass.
They will canvass the Grand Park community, starting at 2332 West 17th Street, for answers in the death of the young father.
“They want justice for him and for his baby girl, she’s only 2,” said AJ Jordan, Vice President of MAD DADS.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened around 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 on that same block of West 17th Street.
When officers arrived, they found Greenwade inside a car. He had been shot multiple times and died at the hospital.
“From what we understand, he walked out to his car to get something out the trunk and somebody came up and shot him in cold blood,” said Jordan.
Now, MAD DADS and Greenwade’s family are calling on the community to come forward with information.
“We care about his life and so we are knocking on doors to let people know it’s still a killer out here and we need your help to help get the killer or killers off our street.”
Jordan tells First Coast News many residents want to see a safer community, one free of violence that’s taken so many young lives.
“Most of our residents want a crime-free city. They don’t want murderers running around our city, so we get a good reception and hopefully, we get some results.”
