PLANTATION, Fla. — A South Florida family is heartbroken after their beloved pet chihuahua was stolen.
The crime, which occurred Tuesday morning in Plantation, was caught on camera.
Little Louie’s owner, James, said it’s a colossal loss for the family.
“He’s a chihuahua-poodle mix, about five pounds,” said James.
Video obtained exclusively by Local 10 News shows the moment a gray Lexus pulled up, someone inside opened the door and pulled Louie inside before driving off.
Louie had wandered off from the driveway, which was a normal occurrence, but he always came back.
Plantation police have since released photos of the Lexus.

James said watching the video was excruciating.
“My heart dropped, not only for me, my family my kids,” he said.
Police are investigating and have all the video, as there are dozens of cameras at the house.
They also have the temporary tag number that was on the Lexus.
“There’s no replacing Louie,” said James. “There is no replacement for that dog. He’s irreplaceable.”
He had a message for the person who took Louie.
“Drop him off, you know where you got him from,” he said. “Come bring him back, he knows where home is.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Plantation police. A reward has also been offered by the family, who said the person who took Louie can still bring him back, no questions asked. They just want their dog back.
