LOWELL, Mass. – Senior goaltender Samuel Richard (Sainte-Catherine, Quebec) of the UMass Lowell ice hockey team has signed with the Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, as announced by the organization on Friday, March 20.

A transfer from the University of New Brunswick, Richard spent one season with the River Hawks, appearing in 18 games and posting a 6-9-0 record. He led the team with a 2.93 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.

Prior to UMass Lowell, Richard starred at New Brunswick, where he appeared in 61 games and compiled an impressive 55-6-0 record, along with a 1.62 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
