The top-seeded Florida Gators will play the 9th-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes in the South Region’s second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, March 22. Tipoff will take place at 7:10 p.m. ET inside Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Florida earned its ticket to the round of 32 by virtue of an absolute shellacking of the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Friday night, 114-55. It was a monumental bounce-back effort after the Gators’ worst loss of the 2025-26 campaign — a 17-point humiliation at the hands of the Vanderbilt Commodores in the SEC Tournament semifinals.
Iowa advanced to the next stage thanks to a 67-61 victory over the Clemson Tigers on Friday in a game that, despite the close final score, it never trailed. Like Florida, the triumph represented a rebound from a disappointing conference tournament loss, falling to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the third round of the Big Ten Tournament.
