A search is underway for a missing 13-year-old boy with autism at Lake Sybelia in Maitland, police say.A large law enforcement presence was spotted searching the area of S. Lake Sybelia Dr. in Maitland on Saturday afternoon. Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Maitland Police Department, Winter Park Police, Orlando Police Department and Orange County Fire Rescue are all on the scene. Maitland PD said 13-year-old Na’Sean Kirkland and his brother, who are both autistic and non-verbal, were reported missing at around 1:30 p.m.His brother returned a short time later but was unable to provide information regarding Na’Sean’s whereabouts. According to Na’Sean’s parents, he has left home and school on several occasions and is often found in neighbors’ pools or other bodies of water.He has limited swimming capabilities and is considered endangered. OCSO helicopter and water rescue search units are on-site, assisting with the search. Na’Sean was last seen wearing a black shirt. A search is underway for a missing 13-year-old boy with autism at Lake Sybelia in Maitland, police say.
A large law enforcement presence was spotted searching the area of S. Lake Sybelia Dr. in Maitland on Saturday afternoon.
Maitland PD said 13-year-old Na’Sean Kirkland and his brother, who are both autistic and non-verbal, were reported missing at around 1:30 p.m.
