For the past month, Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus has been closed for refurbishment, with no opening date announced.

We recently visited the Magic Kingdom and had to see if there were any updates on the construction. Good thing we checked, because it looks completely different from what it did before!

Big Top Souvenirs is the huge circus tent you see in Storybook Circus, filled with Disney souvenirs, treats, slushies, and more. It’s been closed for extensive refurbishment of the tent’s structure since February 20th. It’s supposed to open later this year, but there hasn’t been any word on a specific date.

When the construction began, Disney used to have a tent up around the building. However, the Big Top tent is now completely gone!

We could be looking at a long refurbishment here. Now we can see the construction team is working on the steel frame of the tent, and possibly getting a new tent or refreshing it.

If you’ve been to Magic Kingdom recently, you know that Big Top Souvenirs isn’t the only thing in Storybook Circus that is closed right now. Pete’s Silly Sideshow, the character meet-and-greet area for Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy, has been closed since January 4th. There is also no reopening time frame for that. Instead, you can meet the characters around Storybook Circus for the time being.
