Deputy Steven Bruner of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office passed away shortly after his shift, during which he helped with evacuations from a wildfire in Florida’s panhandle.
According to the Florida Forest Service, as of Saturday night, the Baker Road wildfire had burned at least 500 acres and was 40% contained in the northwest corner of the county.
