The Tampa Bay Lightning will be bringing their 3-game winning streak to Calgary on Sunday as they take on the Flames. Nikita Kucherov of the Lightning has been on an absolute tear as of late. He has 12 points in his last three games and is not leading the NHL point scoring race. When he is playing like this, there is no team in the league that can stop him. As a team, the Lightning are the second-best offensively, averaging 3.59 goals per game. It is quite the opposite at the other end of the ice where the Flames are sitting dead-last in the league averaging only 2.46 goals per game. The Lightning are also a better road team than home team as their record is 23-9-4 on the road.
I will not be putting much stock into the fact that this is a back-to-back situation for the Lightning and Andrei Vasilevskiy may not be getting the start in goal. The Lightning are a far better team that is in the middle of a playoff race. They will come out firing. Give me the Lightning in this one.
Lightning vs. Flames prediction: Lightning -1.5 (+140) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
