Three people in Hillsborough County face charges of tampering with evidence related to the death of a teen in Tampa, last October.
TAMPA, Fla. — Deputies in Hillsborough County placed three individuals under arrest in relation to a case of involving a botched robbery and death of a 17-year-old, which occurred last October.
HCSO said that on Friday, Edward Lee, 28, Dariana McLean, 20 and Kelvyn Diaz Jr., 20 were all arrested and each is facing charges of tampering with evidence.
On Oct. 21, Hillsborough County deputies were called to Country Hollow Drive for reports of a shooting. They arrived to find 17-year-old Trevaun Johnson dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
After investigating, deputies said, they learned that the shooting incident started with an attempted armed robbery. This led detectives to identify other individuals involved, including Cordaryl Johnson, 18, who was wounded during the incident. He was placed under arrest in December.

Cordaryl Johnson was charged with second-degree felony murder, armed burglary and attempted robbery, deputies said.
Further investigation, HCSO said, showed that evidence of the incident was taken to a hospital in Pasco County. Upon forensic analysis, they linked it to the scene and learned that there were attempts to hide or discard items from a car.
The investigation resulted in Pasco County Sheriff’s Office executing warrants charging Lee, McLean and Diaz Jr.
“This case shows our commitment to getting to the truth and holding everyone involved accountable. Trying to hide or tamper with evidence will not stop us from finding the facts,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to ensure justice is served.”
The investigation remains active, deputies added.
