National Puppy Day is 23 so TCPalm has comprised a list of animal shelters across the Treasure Coast for residents who might be looking for a furry friend to take home.

There are at least 12 animal shelters where you can adopt dogs and cats across Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties.
