ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 62-year-old Largo man was killed in a fiery Saturday morning crash on Interstate 275, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
He was heading south on the highway when he lost control of the Chevy Silverado that he was driving south of milepost 30 just after 11 a.m.
It’s not known why the driver lost control of his truck, FHP said.
The truck drove off the road into the shoulder, where it hit a traffic sign support pole and caught fire.
He was brought to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, troopers said.
