Crews are adding to the Piston Peak National Park retaining wall every day. The wall runs along the edge of the future Cars area near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom.

From the ground, only the tallest section of the wall is visible. Since we first noticed this peeking over construction walls, crews have added more white paneling and temporary stairs. On the other side of the wall is black framework.

From Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we could see more of the wall. As we saw in bioreconstruct’s aerial photos, it runs along the walkway from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad towards Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

More black framing has been installed along the rest of the wall. There’s also a section of standalone framing jutting away from the tallest section of the wall.

The retaining wall could ultimately separate two different levels of land or surround the new river expected along the Frontierland boardwalk.
