A cold front will shift southward and stall across the south, resulting in showers and lightning storms for Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, there is a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms in Ft. Pierce, a 40 percent chance in Orlando, a 50 percent chance in Melbourne and a 60 percent chance in Daytona, mainly after 3 p.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

NWS Melbourne warns some storms may be stronger, capable of producing frequent lightning, gusty winds, locally heavy rainfall and small hail.

An increase in wind speed to 10-15 mph in the afternoon will cause hazardous beach and boating conditions.

There is a high risk for rip currents and rough surf for Volusia and north Brevard beaches. Entering the surf isn’t advised. Furthermore, there is a moderate risk of rip currents for South Brevard and Treasure Coast beaches.
