Universal Orlando Resort filed a new permit for a “future attraction” at Universal Epic Universe.
Permit #B26901713 is for the address 4700 W Sand Lake Rd, Orlando, FL, 32819 — which corresponds to a backstage area at Epic Universe. The permit, found by WESH reporter Shane Winsten, is for site work:
Mass grading, utility points of connection, and re-routes for early work purposes of a future attraction known as Project 680.
This comes soon after Universal filed several permits for a new event space and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Epic Universe. But this permit is the first to mention a “future attraction.” Project 680 is a brand-new project name.
Universal executives have teased an expansion to Epic Universe — although avoided the word in official press releases. They have not made any official announcements about a new ride or land.
