OCALA, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida woman is behind bars after deputies say she blinded her 83-year-old stepfather with soapy water before stabbing him with kitchen knives because she “hates him.”

Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office say they responded to a home in Ocala on Saturday morning for reports that an elderly man had been attacked.

Investigators say that 45-year-old Jennifer Gill used a spray bottle filled with soapy water to blind her stepfather before “whacking” him with dull bread knives and beating him with his own cane.

Gill’s mother reportedly discovered her husband covered in blood in the kitchen and rushed him to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in stable condition with 12 stab wounds, seven of which were to the back of the head.

According to the arrest affidavit, Gill confessed to the attack, telling deputies she had thought about killing the victim for years. “I wish to God they would’ve been sharp as f***,” Gill said, referring to the knives she used during the attack.

Family members told detectives the victim was a “kind and sweet” man with mobility issues, according to witness statements. Gill, however, has a long criminal history dating back to 2005.
