It was only a matter of time. On Tuesday, Orlando City confirmed the official signing of Antoine Griezmann.

As has been mentioned several times since February, the French striker will complete his season with Atletico Madrid before making the move to the United States.

He has signed a two-year contract with an option for the 2028/29 season.

“I look forward to making Orlando my new home, meeting the supporters, feeling the energy at Inter&Co Stadium, and giving everything I have to help the team achieve great things,” Griezmann said in a statement.

“He is one of the most gifted, accomplished and influential players of his generation, and his decision to choose Orlando City reflects the mission and culture of our club,” said Orlando City owner Mark Wilf of Griezmann.

“Our focus is on consistently building a championship-calibre roster every year, and adding a world-class player like Antoine reinforces that commitment and our belief in what the club can achieve.”

This season at Atletico, he still has the chance to win both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
