With so many different restaurants around Disney World, sometimes there are certain ones that get forgotten about, especially in Disney Springs.

Paradiso 37

Disney Springs is home to TONS of restaurants, and we know sometimes it can be hard to choose where you’d like to go. We decided to head over to one of the restaurants that often gets overlooked in the shopping and dining district — Paradiso 37! Is this spot worth stopping at on your next vacation? Let’s dive in!

Background

Paradiso 37 is a restaurant that focuses on cuisine from North, Central, and South America, and is described as a “lively watering hole” that overlooks Village Lake. This restaurant opened in Disney Springs on June 5th, 2009, and while it was originally next to the old Adventurer’s Club on Pleasure Island, it’s now located across from OluKai and The Ganachery.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

The inside of this restaurant is fairly open with a Latin flair, and it’s very colorful, which we loved to see.

Inside Paradiso 37

There’s a mix of booths and tables, and you can even look and see the kitchen preparing your food on one side of the restaurant. You’ll also find bar seating, if you’re just looking for a drink.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First up, we grabbed the Paradiso 37 Loaded Yucca Fries for $20, which are Crispy Fries or Yuca Fries Loaded with Mojo-Roasted Pork.

Paradiso 37 Loaded Yucca Fries

The flavor here is heavily carried by the pulled pork; however, that does mean it basically totally masks the other flavors here. The fries at the bottom have a crunchy outside and a soft inside, which pair nicely with the pulled pork, which is really soft, but not overly chewy. The sauce adds another great flavor to the bites you do get it in, and the corn and onions provide a great change in texture. Overall, it’s a fine appetizer, but we don’t think we’d get it again, especially with that price tag.

The pulled pork is the main flavor

We also grabbed the Baja Fish Tacos for $29, which are Crispy Battered Fish Topped with Sweet Chili Aioli, Mango Salsa, and Creamy Coleslaw, served on Flour Tortillas.

Baja Fish Tacos

These had a nice balance between sweet and savory, with a heavy emphasis on the mango flavor. The coleslaw adds a good crunch to the soft texture of both the fish and the mangoes. While the fish was good, it did cool down very quickly from the toppings, and we just felt there was not enough of it. The majority of each taco felt like coleslaw topped off by mangoes, and to make things even harder, these were THE messiest tacos we’ve ever eaten. It was nearly impossible to pick them up without everything spilling out the back. They were good, but we don’t think we’d get them again.

We’d like some more fish!

For dessert, we snagged the Mexico City Churros for $14, which are Cinnamon and Sugar Churros with Caramel and Chocolate Sauce.

Mexico City Churros

These were your classic churros, but they did taste much fresher than what you can normally find in the Disney World parks, which was a nice change of pace. They were COVERED in cinnamon sugar, which was great, and if you’re a churro fan, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. However, would we come here just for them? Probably not.

We enjoyed the chocolate sauce too!

To drink, we picked up the Bahama Mama, which ranges from $16 to $25. This is P37 coconut rum, grenadine, orange, and pineapple juice, and a dark rum floater, and this drink is dangerous!

Bahama Mama

All the delicious fruit flavors here totally mask the rum, so it didn’t taste like we were drinking alcohol at all. The rum is covered by all these juices mixed in the drink. If you’re someone who prefers fruity drinks or you don’t like to taste the alcohol in your cocktails, don’t miss out on this one.

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

You’re looking for some really solid drinks and appetizers. We’ve often found that while the entrees at this spot aren’t bad, its strengths lie more with its quick bites and drinks, so we think it’s a good idea to stop here for a brief stint, then head elsewhere for your full meal.
You want a view without the crowds. This spot also has outdoor seating that gives you gorgeous views of the water, but since this spot isn’t as popular as others, crowds aren’t often something you need to worry about.
You’re traveling with a big group with expansive palates. We really love that this menu is so large, you can often find something for everyone pretty easily.

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

You’ve got picky eaters in your group. While the menu is large, everyone has to enjoy this style of cuisine, and picky eaters very well may not fit into that category.
You want a quieter meal. Live music often happens at this restaurant, so even though it’s not very popular, it won’t necessarily be quiet.
You prefer a fancier meal. The dining style here is very casual, which also means there isn’t really a dress code. If you’re looking for somewhere that’s a little more upscale, this may not be the best fit.

While we didn’t have a bad experience here, we can see why it’s not one of the most popular restaurants out there. It didn’t totally knock our socks off, but again, if you’re looking for a quick bite or a solid drink, and you want the added bonus of there not being many crowds, this could be a good fit.

We’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
