• I drove past the 14-acre lot next to Costco on University Boulevard and State Road 436 and there is fencing around the lot. I am ticked off that they are going to be destroying that lot and all of the trees during the nesting season for birds. It hurts that they will be taking down all of those trees, but please wait until the birds have fledged.

• I’m ticked off by the people who are complaining about gas prices rising immediately with the cost of oil rather than when the newly priced oil is refined and delivered. Do you complain when gas prices go down immediately when the price of oil drops?

• I am ticked off that the server in a restaurant asks, ” Are you still working on that?” instead of, “Are you still enjoying that?”

• I’m ticked off at McDonald’s for advertising milkshakes when they have so much trouble keeping their machines working. I tracked our last 10 trips to McDonald’s and milkshakes were unavailable three times. Now we go to Burger King when milkshakes are our priority.

• I’m ticked off at Disney, which frowns upon people cutting in line unless of course you pay them extra to be able do it via purchasing the Lightning Lane at an extra cost. It’s money magic!

The flip side

• Thank you to my sister, Kim, for putting a 10-foot-by-10-foot floating canvas tent with PVC weighted anchors on the bottom of each leg in her pool to shade people as it bobbles around.
