A stretch of Broward Boulevard near the performing arts theater that was shut down for hours Wednesday morning has reopened.

A two-car crash was reported around 4:15 a.m. at Southwest/Northwest Seventh Avenue, also known as Avenue of the Arts. Three people were hurt in the crash, in front of a Walgreens and Burger King, and taken to Broward Health Medical Center, according to fire-rescue officials.

A second crash in the area involved a responding fire truck, Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue spokesperson Frank Guzman said in an email to the Miami Herald. No firefighters were injured.

Fort Lauderdale police say the driver of an Audi involved in the crash has since been cleared from the hospital and a passenger is now in stable condition. The driver of a BMW is in critical condition.

Eastbound and westbound Broward Boulevard in the area, near downtown Fort Lauderdale, west of Andrews Avenue and between U.S. 1 and Interstate 95, were temporarily shut down in both directions.
