One of the things that makes Key Biscayne so special is how we move through our community.

Whether it’s walking to school, biking along our streets or driving just a short distance to see neighbors and local businesses, the sense of ease and connection is something we all value, and it depends on each of us doing our part to keep our community safe.

At the Key Biscayne Police Department, our officers are out every day working to protect your way of life. Safety is a shared responsibility. The small decisions we make behind the wheel, or even parking, can have a big impact.

It is important everyone remain vigilant throughout the island, especially around Village Green Park.

Please review these important reminders to help us maintain a safe and walkable Village:

• Speed Limits: Crandon Boulevard and Harbor Drive are 30 mph. All other Village streets, including Fernwood, remain 20 mph.

• Golf Carts: Golf carts are not permitted on Crandon Boulevard except when crossing or traveling to the next accessible street. Operators must hold a valid driver’s license.

• Pedestrian Safety: Stay alert for children and pedestrians, especially near crosswalks, intersections and driveways.

• Parking Regulations: Park only in the direction indicated by signage and ensure your vehicle is fully within a marked space. Reverse‑angle parking is required in designated areas, including along the Village Green, for both cars and golf carts.

• Golf Cart Parking: Golf carts may only park in designated golf cart spaces. Cars are not permitted in these areas.

• No Double Parking: Double parking is always prohibited, even for brief drop‑offs or pick‑ups.

• Overnight Parking: Vehicles may not remain parked in the same location for more than 24 hours. Please follow all posted no‑overnight‑parking signs.

These may seem like small details but together they make a meaningful difference. Your attention to these rules helps protect our residents, especially our children, and ensures that Key Biscayne remains the safe, vibrant community we all cherish.
