A Cape Coral man was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of threatening an individual with a sword.According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers responded to the 1800 block of Everest Parkway at around 6:57 p.m. for a disturbance involving a weapon.The victim told officers that Raul Elosegui Fernandez, 41, had threatened them with a sword before fleeing in a white Chevrolet pickup truck.Officers investigated the incident and discovered that it had begun as a dispute between the two individuals, and escalated when Fernandez grabbed a tan-handled sword with a roughly three-foot metal blade from his truck.CCPD said Fernandez then held the sword over his head and approached the victim while making threatening statements.Officers located Fernandez at his home and saw the sword, clearly visible, in his pickup truck.Fernandez was arrested and faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.DOWNLOAD the free Gulf Coast News app for your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet. A Cape Coral man was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of threatening an individual with a sword.
