The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a car crash that injured a pedestrian Wednesday night.

On March 25, around 10 p.m., a man was crossing the southbound lanes of Ocala Road when a car in the outside lanes hit him, according to a TPD news release.

“The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries but in stable condition,” TPD said.

The incident is an active and ongoing investigation, and marks the second pedestrian-involved crash this month.

Another pedestrian was hit and killed in a hit-and-run March 5 in the area of West Tennessee Street.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle’s crash dashboard, the accident was at least the 51st involving a pedestrian since the new year began. So far, there have been two pedestrian deaths, the agency reports.
