LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene at the Lee County Election Center.
A significant law enforcement presence was reported at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, with a mix of crime unit vans, trucks, detective unmarked vehicles, and medical examiner vehicles on scene.
Yellow police tape has been wrapped around the perimeter of the Lee County Election Center blocking off four rows in the back parking lot.
It remains unclear why law enforcement is on the scene. WINK News contacted the sheriff’s office for information regarding this scene. According to deputies, they are “following up on an investigation. Please check back tomorrow to see if we’ve made progress we can share.”
