The Landon opened at 717 S Howard Ave. in South Tampa. This New American fine dining spot operates under local restaurateur Michael Stewart, who rebuilt after a fire ravaged 717 South in 2024.
Chef Robert Hesse commands the kitchen. He caught the public eye during two seasons on Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen.
Stewart owned 717 South before flames shut it down. He views this opening as a way to keep that original community alive.
According to That’s So Tampa, the menu showcases seafood and steaks — mixing traditional preparations with inventive twists on old favorites. Diners can order bread courses, salads, caviar service, raw plates, chilled selections, starters, entrees, and premium cuts. Sides come with optional add-ons like bone marrow demi glace or truffle butter.
Starters span charbroiled oysters, crab cakes, and ravioli. Lobster popcorn appears alongside Thai coconut curry mussels and the “10K Scallops” — a dish layered with corn pudding, pork belly, quail egg, and veal demi.
Main courses feature Florida red snapper, southern-style grouper paired with corn spoon bread and scampi shrimp, duroc pork tenderloin, vegan short rib, and cacio e pepe verde. Steak lovers can choose wagyu filets, New York strip, or a 22-ounce prime bone-in ribeye.
An A5 wagyu “experience” stands out. It arrives with foie gras mousse, milk bread French toast, shimeji mushrooms, and Suntory green pepper au poivre.
The Landon opens daily at 4 p.m. Crowds build fast, so reservations through the website are smart.
