Tickets start at $30. Visit sas-dunedin.org.

Breabach is headed to Dunedin for the first time during the city’s Tartan Week.

It’s been more than 20 years since Breabach won the Danny Kyle Open Stage Award at Celtic Connections, and the band is still among Scotland’s most skilled and imaginative contemporary-folk acts. At the forefront of the burgeoning traditional music scene, Breabach weaves together deep roots in Highland and Island Gaelic tradition with progressive musical influences, cultivating a distinctive sound featuring double bagpipes, fiddle, whistle, step-dance and song with energetic double bass and guitar accompaniment.

Known for their versatility, love of experimentation and a willingness to push the boundaries of Scottish roots music, the band has embraced and pioneered many cross-genre collaborations, linking up with artists including Quebec’s Le Vent du Nord, BAFTA award-winning animator Cat Bruce, indigenous Australasian artist Moana & the Tribe, video game composer Big Giant Circles, Cape Breton powerhouse Beòlach, the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and most recently with country star Darius Rucker as part of the Grand Ole Opry: Live in London show at the Royal Albert Hall.

With eight critically acclaimed studio releases to date, an extensive global touring schedule which has seen them perform from the Sydney Opera House to Central Park in New York and having received recognition with six BBC ALBA Traditional Music Awards, a 2023 German Record Critic’s Award and as European Folk Group of the year finalists in the prestigious Songlines Awards, Breabach’s journey shows no sign of slowing.

Breabach are Megan Henderson (fiddle, vocals, step dance), James Lindsay (double bass, vocals), Calum MacCrimmon (Highland bagpipe, whistle, bouzouki, vocals), Conal McDonagh (Highland bagpipe, Uilleann pipes, whistle, vocals), and Ewan Robertson (guitar, cajon, vocals).

Bilheimer Capitol Theatre

The Cream of Clapton Band

CLEARWATER — The Cream of Clapton Band will perform on Saturday, April 4, at the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater.

Tickets start at $37. Visit www.rutheckerdhall.com or call 727-791-7400.

Endorsed by the man himself, family, friends and band mates celebrate the best-selling live album of all time, MTV’s “Unplugged,” and Clapton’s record-breaking “24 Nights” at The Royal Albert Hall. Very special guests include Eric Clapton’s long time bass player, Nathan East, and legendary drummer Steve Ferrone (Eric Clapton / Tom Petty) who join founding members Will Johns (Eric’s nephew) and Noah East (Nathan’s son) on stage.

This tour is the first time in over 30 years that East and Ferrone have revisited these historic performances together.

The concert will feature classic Clapton songs, including “Cocaine,” “Sunshine of Your Love,” “Badge” and “Layla,” plus favorites including “Bad Love,” “Tearing Us Apart,” “Holy Mother” and “Run.”

East is one of the most recorded bass players of all time, East was 16 years old when he got his big break to tour with Barry White. The next call was from Quincy Jones. For the last four decades, East has been recording and performing with artists as legendary as Phil Collins, George Harrison, Michael Jackson, Toto, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Barbra Streisand, and Stevie Wonder. He is a founding member of the chart-topping contemporary jazz group Fourplay and has been one of Clapton’s go-to bass players for over 40 years.

Known for his exceptional groove and deep “pocket,” Ferrone’s six-year tenure with Clapton included touring and recording on “Journeyman,” “24 Nights” and “Unplugged.” He went on to join Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in 1994, through to Petty’s untimely passing in 2017. He has also played with a myriad of top artists and musicians during a career spanning at least five decades, including the Average White Band, Bee Gees, George Benson, Johnny Cash, Tracy Chapman, Bryan Ferry, Peter Frampton, Whitney Houston, Pat Metheny.

With the successful 2023 reissue of the Royal Albert Hall concerts, dubbed “The Definitive 24 Nights” and 2025’s extended, remixed and remastered “Unplugged … Over 30 Years Later,” this next generation of musicians believe it’s the perfect time to celebrate this historic and popular period from an extraordinary career.

“To be able to play this music with those who were there in the first place is almost impossible to comprehend,” said Johns. “Their bond, depth of understanding and level of musicianship is off the charts. The band is on fire because it’s so exciting to revive these great tunes and audiences love it.”

Johns is British icon Pattie (“Layla”) Boyd’s nephew and got to know his “Uncle Eric” as a boy, which included an introduction to his two lifelong loves: fishing and the guitar. His father is the late, great Andy Johns, legendary record producer and engineer for the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and Van Halen.

Noah East has played the piano since the age of 4 and has listened to his father play with Clapton since he can remember.

“Our goal is to do justice to this incredible body of work, and given Eric’s blessing of this project, we have the confidence to interpret these songs in our own way,” Noah said. “So many great musicians want to sit in with the band, so we’ve decided to invite ‘special guests’ as often as we can. To have my father and Steve Ferrone back out together, is such an honor. It’s all about honoring the legacy but keeping it fresh. We can’t wait to play these shows.”

Three talented young entertainers starting out on what would become arguably three of the most famous careers in the entertainment industry.

Tony Sands’ Rat Pack Together Again show is a tribute to the legendary careers and antics of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin. The three famous superstars who came together in the 1960s all have since died, but their images are being carried on by three amazing impersonators who assume the roles of the stars during their glory days. With their onstage banter that made their act a big hit in Las Vegas, Tony Sands performs as Frank, Eric Richardson plays Dean, and Dezhon Fields performs as Sammy. Tickets start at $105. Visit Ticketmaster.com or seminolehardrocktampa.com.

The great ones endure, and Gladys Knight has long been one of the greatest. Very few singers over the last 60 years have matched her unassailable artistry. This seven-time Grammy Award winner has enjoyed No. 1 hits in pop, gospel, R&B, and adult contemporary, and has triumphed in film, television, and live performance.

All told, Knight has recorded more than 38 albums over the years, including four solo albums: “Good Woman” (1991); “Just for You” (1994); the inspirational “Many Different Roads” (1999); and “At Last” (2001). “At Last” showed the world that she still has what it takes to record a hit album, employing the talents of contemporary producers like Randy Jackson.

Knight has continued to spread her acting wings, making a guest star appearance in the FOX hit show “Star” and appearing in the film “Almost Christmas” in 2016, both which were produced and directed by Lee Daniels. She appeared on ABC’s 14th season of “Dancing With The Stars” in 2012. In 2019, she competed on the inaugural season of “The Masked Singer” and sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta. Knight sang the National Anthem on yet another major sports stage at the 2021 NBA All-Star Game. During the 2022 holiday season she starred in “I’m Glad It’s Christmas” on Great American Family and received the 45th Kennedy Center Honors for Lifetime Artistic Achievements along with George Clooney, Amy Grant, Tania Leone and U2 in December. In addition, this past March she received the National Medal of Arts along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bruce Springsteen, Jose Feliciano and Mindy Kaling. In 2024 she was made a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree.

Crowbar

Sqwerv

TAMPA — Sqwerv will perform on Thursday, April 2, 8 p.m., at, 1812 N. 17th St., Tampa.

South Florida band Tand also will perform. Tickets start at $17.67. Visit www.crowbarybor.com.

Sqwerv’s roots run deep in the Denver music scene. Those roots began to take hold as the band started hosting local open jams and playing gigs at small bars and venues in 2017. Since then, Sqwerv has become a staple in Denver’s music scene with bands like Magic Beans, Squeaky Feet, Eminence Ensemble and Rado.

This four-piece indie-psych rock band’s love for classic rock, psychedelic music and improvisation creates a sound that is refreshingly original and exciting. Sqwerv realizes the importance of good songwriting and is always pushing themselves in the improvisation. The band spends a great deal of time writing lyrics, composing, and developing song structure that has grown into a catalogue that ranges from 12-minute prog songs inspired by Homer’s Odyssey to 2-minute psych songs about love. They are fiercely driven to get to those transcendent, improvised spaces that all jam-music lovers crave. Sqwerv continues to deliver to their audiences through groove, counterpoint, polyrhythms and risk taking.

In the last two years the band has released two studio albums, three live albums and completed two national tours with no plans on stopping. They have had the opportunity to open for acts like Lespecial, Spafford, Eggy and Big Something. They hold themselves to a rigorous tour schedule playing unique shows for their fans on a regular basis. Sqwerv leans into the dark and the beautiful while thriving off the sounds they create and connections they make.

The Orpheum

Redd Kross

TAMPA — Redd Kross will perform on Wednesday, April 1, 7 p.m., at the Orpheum, 14802 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa.

Tickets start at $35.06. Visit www.theorpheum.com.

According to the band’s website, Redd Kross have always existed slightly to the left of the rest of the world. Established in 1979 by brothers Jeff and Steven McDonald of Hawthorne, California, the band sprang to life in the same Southern California orbit that produced Black Flag, with whom they played their earliest shows. But even then, Redd Kross were unmistakably their own thing. Where their peers carved out strict definitions of punk, the McDonalds treated the genre as an open invitation: a passport to mix bubblegum with noise, Kiss with the Velvet Underground, the Partridge Family with the Germs, sometimes in the same song and always without apology.

Through the 1980s and 1990s, Redd Kross built a reputation as one of the great unsummarizable American bands.

In 2024, the band enjoyed a year marked by a critically acclaimed self-titled double album, the documentary “Born Innocent,” and a memoir “Now You’re One of Us.” Redd Kross have been punching above their weight and outside their lane for more than four decades. Touring in support of this cluster of projects found the band at full power, whether headlining across the United States and Europe or joining the Melvins.

As they move toward working on their 10th album this year, Redd Kross remain a singular presence in American music. Few groups have survived this long, and fewer still have done it without losing their way in some form or another.

Hailing from Saratoga Springs, New York, this independent alternative rock band was formed in 2018 by singer-song-writer Austin Kranick and drummer/producer Tyler Hayes. According to the band’s website, the two quickly bonded over their shared love for intricate songwriting and lyricism while working together on Austin’s solo project at the time. Together, Austin and Tyler began playing open-mic shows in Upstate New York, performing acoustic versions of their songs which would later be released on their debut EP, “Something Better” in September of 2019.

Following the success of the multi-million streamed title track, “Something Better” and their tribute cover of Linkin Park’s “Breaking the Habit,” Austin began writing their first full-length album, “On The Mend.”

Their plans to tour, however, were derailed by the pandemic in 2020.

The band is currently releasing singles from their upcoming album (set to release in March of 2024) including, “Something You Can Give Yourself” as well as the album’s title track, “Ordinary Love,” presenting a more refined and mature sound than ever before. The band released “Ordinary Love,” their second album, in 2024.

TAMPA — AYYBO will perform on Friday, April 3, 10 p.m., at the Ritz Ybor, 1503 E. Seventh Ave., Tampa.

Born Aaron Bonnema, AYYBO has always had an insatiable appetite for music. His passion for DJing began unexpectedly when he took on the role of school DJ, despite having no prior experience. This humble beginning led to DJing house parties. It also allowed him to explore the vast world of electronic music beyond his initial scope.

While studying cinematography in college, AYYBO’s focus shifted towards music production. Selling all his filming equipment to invest in his studio setup, he delved into producing bass music and trap, drawing from his love for hip-hop. In 2018, he signed with Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label, but the desire for creative exploration led him to experiment with different genres and tempos.

His breakout track, “Hypnosis,” has accumulated over 10 million streams since its release in July 2022. Kicking off 2023, AYYBO received an official remix from world renowned Pitbull, opened for Dillon Francis alias DJ Hanzel at Exchange LA and debuted his first headline set at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles with the Space Yacht crew.
