CAPE CORAL, Fla. (CBS12) — Police arrested a man in Cape Coral after an alleged neighbor dispute escalated into a sword threat Tuesday evening.
Officers responded at around 6:57 p.m. on March 25 to Everest Parkway following a report of a disturbance involving a weapon. The caller told police that a neighbor had threatened them with a sword before driving away in a white Chevrolet pickup truck.
Investigators identified the suspect as Raul Elosegui Fernandez, 41, according to police. Officers determined that an argument between neighbors escalated when Fernandez retrieved a sword from his truck. The sword had a tan handle and a metal blade measuring approximately three feet long.

Police said Fernandez raised the sword above his shoulder and approached the victim while making threatening statements. The victim retreated inside their home and contacted law enforcement.
After canvassing the area, officers located Fernandez’s pickup truck at his residence on Southwest 6th Place. Police reported that the sword was visible inside the vehicle. The weapon was seized as evidence.
