March 27, 2026 – The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday, 9 – 7, in the regular season opener at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. The Rays will return to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg April 6. At a St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership Developer’s Council meeting Tuesday, City Development administration managing director Beth Herendeen said that the stadium is ready for the team after an extensive repair project.
