Florida Supreme Court issues a temporary stay of an execution

Former police officer James Aren Duckett was convicted of the rape and murder of 11-year-old girl in 1987. Duckett awaits post-conviction DNA testing as he claims it will “provide newly discovered evidence of his actual innocence”. The test results are expected to be available today.
