CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — A Cape Coral police officer was arrested on Friday after an investigation determined he battered his spouse, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

CCPD said officers responded to a disturbance involving an off-duty officer, Timothy Allen. The investigation led to Allen’s arrest and transport to the Lee County Jail.

Allen was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Chief Anthony Sizemore released a statement addressing the incident.

“As Chief, I want to be clear that no one is above the law—regardless of their position or profession,” Sizemore said. “We hold our officers to the highest standards, and when those standards are not met, we will act swiftly and transparently.”
