Tiger Woods arrested on suspicion of DUI after rollover crash on Jupiter Island
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said when officers with the Jupiter Island Police Department responded to the scene, they found a pickup truck pulling a pressure-cleaner trailer and a Ranger Rollover on its side.
Budensiek said responding officers could see that the driver of the Range Rover “might be impaired,” prompting them to contact the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff said their investigation later revealed that the truck pulling the pressure-cleaner trailer was traveling northbound on South Beach Road and was starting to pull into a driveway.
“The driver of that vehicle looked in his mirror and saw a (Range) Rover overtaking him at high speeds,” Budensiek said. “He saw it coming, so he tried to edge off the side of the road, but this is a small two-lane road, and there was no shoulder … to get off the side of the road.”
Budensiek said Range Rover “swerved to avoid a collision” but clipped the back end of the trailer, causing Woods’ vehicle to roll over on its side.

Golfing legend Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash on Jupiter Island on March 27, 2026, according to Martin County deputies.
After the crash, the sheriff said Woods was able to crawl out of the vehicle through the passenger’s side door.
“Our DUI investigators came to the scene, and Mr. Woods did (exhibit) signs of impairment,” Budensiek said. “They did several tests on him … He was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.”
The sheriff said Woods complied with a breathalyzer test and blew “triple zeroes” but refused a urine test.
“He’s been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test,” Budensiek said.
Investigators don’t believe Woods was impaired by alcohol, but the sheriff believes it was “some type of medication or drug.”
“We will never get definitive results as to what he was impaired on at the time of the crash,” Budensiek said.
Neither Woods nor the driver of the pickup truck was hurt in the crash.
The charges that Woods faces are both misdemeanors. He will be held in the Martin County Jail for at least eight hours, in accordance with Florida law for DUI arrests.
Woods was involved in a severe crash in California in 2021, where he suffered multiple leg injuries.
In 2017, the golfer was arrested in Palm Beach County on suspicion of driving under the influence. Woods later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, agreeing to pay a $250 fine and attend DUI school.
