JetBlue Fort Lauderdale Expansion: New Cleveland Route & More Flights in 2026 - News and Statistics

JetBlue has revealed plans to expand its service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to a report from Fox Business. The low-cost carrier will introduce a new daily route to Cleveland starting in early July. Several existing domestic routes from the Florida hub will also see increased flight frequencies beginning on the same date.

The airline is adding one daily flight to Atlanta, Newark, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia. This adjustment will result in four daily flights to both Atlanta and Newark. Service to Las Vegas and Philadelphia will increase to three flights per day, while Jacksonville will offer two. An increase in weekly flights to Norfolk will bring that route to a daily service.

International service from Fort Lauderdale will also be enhanced. Flights to Aruba will gain four additional weekly trips, bringing it to daily service. An extra daily flight to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic will double the frequency on that route. The carrier will also add three more weekly flights to St. Maarten, resulting in daily service.

A company executive stated that the additions are part of a strategy to strengthen the airline’s network in Fort Lauderdale by adding destinations and frequencies based on customer demand. The expansion aims to provide more choice and flexibility for travelers.

This network growth follows a recent announcement from the airline regarding a financial improvement plan targeting significant incremental operating profit by 2027. The plan focuses on cost management, network expansion, and service enhancements.

The airline terminated a proposed merger with Spirit Airlines approximately two years ago after a federal judge blocked the deal. Last year, JetBlue entered into a partnership with United Airlines, enabling cross-booking and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits.
